The Umbriel

Death demanded that all must die and enter her care, Corellon refused to bow to such tyranny.

Summary

A religious doctrine among the Dominion elves, based in the belief that their divine spark was stolen from them by Umbria, and that her clashing with Corellon over it led to the disappearance of the gods. Her hubris and malcontent towards the elven people, claiming that everything must eventually die, is immortalized in the 'Requiem of The Evening Star'.

Historical Basis

When Corellon created the elven people, he gifted them a portion of his divine spark, granting them immortality so that they may live without fear of time. The Raven Queen, more commonly called Umbria by the elves, as the goddess of death she found this unacceptable. She demanded that he withdraw his divine spark from his children immediately, a demand which he refused, resulting in the two gods clashing. Shortly after this confrontation, the gods vanished from Tarrus.
