Humans

Despite being the youngest race on Khorvaire, the human's fast reproductive cycle, brashness, and aggressive nature allowed them to proliferate throughout the continent. Because of these traits some of the older races consider human to be pest-like nuisances, but cannot deny their technological advances and military might.
The original human settlers arrived by ship from the continent of Sarlona approximately 3000 years ago. Within a thousand years human kingdoms dotted the continent. Another thousand years later King Galifar forged an empire that would envelop the entire continent. Now after the [Great War] the human kingdoms are a fractured, and no longer dominate the continent.
Still the humans remain the great innovators and their insatiable curiousoty, for good or bad, pushes the boundaries of knowledge, magic and technology at a pace that frightens the older races.
