Fighting styles are different grouped skills and techniques that distinguish one warrior from another. To learn a style you need the Style Familiarity perk. The main benefit is being able to learn and improve skill that you don't "know" without reference material. Anyone may learn a style and it's core and Basic Techniques, however the Special Skills and Techniques as well as some optional traits require Trained by a Master for Martial Artists, or Weapon Master (Small Group) for Warriors. A way around this is the Style Mastery advantage worth 5 points (see bottom of page). Each style is broken into several sections: Basic Cost: The basic cost to learn this style, it includes all the styles primary skills and an extra point for familiarity with the style which allows a user to improve it's components even if he doesn't "know" them. Core Skills: The basic core skills taught by the fighting style to everyone in the school. Basic Techniques: The basic techniques of the fighting style. Special Skills: Advanced techniques of a fighting style. These are skills that are used by prodigies of the fighting style, bordering on the supernatural.
