Character Creation Changes
First Level Feat
Plain and simple, all characters get a first level feat. I allow all official feats, any UA feats need to be run by me first.
Ability Score Generation
To generate ability scores, I use this method. All players, plus myself will roll a stat line as follows, roll in order from Strength to Charisma, using 4d6 drop lowest. Then, all those player stats plus the one I roll go into a pool. Then players pick their stat line from that pool of options equal to the number of players +1. Once you've selected a stat line from the pool, you can choose one stat to reroll, taking your choice between the two numbers.
Class Specific-Changes
Wizards ignore the gold cost associated with copying spells into or out of their spellbooks in my campaigns. Anyone able to hurl a mote of fire at something forty yards away at will and indefinitely should be able to produce the necessary effects to copy a spell from an already magical scroll to an already magical spellbook. Imbuing or inscribing a new scroll still carries it's normal costs, however, as this requires weaving magic into an otherwise mundane piece of parchment.
Bards are allowed, but they use intelligence for spellcasting, not charisma. They have a variety of abilities and tools at their disposal, easily just as much utility and versatility as the "half caster" classes like paladin and ranger, but they get full spellcasting as well. With expertise, jack of all trades, the ability to pick spells from any list, they are more skilled than the skill-based classes and more flexible in their spell usage than wizards, though unlike wizards they still have their own class mechanics like inspiration and countercharm. Despite all of this, they still get to use charisma for spellcasting, despite there being no real justification for this. They learn their magic through study and practice, like a wizard, and their subclasses are even called colleges. For this reason, they will have to use intelligence for their spells and invest in two stats if they want to get the most out of their incredibly diverse skill set.
