Tenth Session Recap

The group is able to make it home to Thildan and report in. Gregor reports directly to Major Raktus, taking responsibility for giving up the info about the IDF to Orcish forces. The Major isn't pleased, but doesn't discipline the Sergeant at all. They are given a few days downtime to recover from their ordeal and grieve for their two fallen friends, and Valkin and Layea are recruited into Basilisk squad.
After a few days, they are given a new job to scout out the mountain path behind Fort Arcton to ensure it doesn't have any bases left behind by the retreating attack force, any that could jeopardize the NRM any further.
On the fourth day along the trail, they encounter a camp, one that houses two large, dumb creatures akin to giants, and .... a dragon.
The dragon demands that they surrender and submit to Gorzan Romakk, the Orcish commander that the dragon works for, but the group tries to play coy with the dragon, and it attacks. The battle is fierce, and nearly fatal for a few, but the group manages to hurt the dragon enough to break Gorzan's hold over it, and they talk to it.
The dragon introduces itself as Shokiir, and informs them that Gorzan has an item that can dominate the wills of dragons, though usually only the lesser variety. It decides to work with the group for now, since they oppose Gorzan as well, but at least for now must pretend to still be under his command. Then it seals itself in a block of ice to heal and the group returns home to reports.
