Dorsus Noxa
Cabal of heretics
Following the teachings of the long-dead heretic, Wymoira Dorsus, this cabal of mages and high lords exists on the fringes of high-class society and their secrecy is a main reason why they are still allowed to exist. Secrecy, and their proneness on choosing words in which they address themselves very carefully.Structure
The members of the Veiled Truth follow a strict hierarchy which is respected thorougly by all members of the order. As a cult - like cabal, rules and hierarchical orders of the organization are followed to the letter with no room for deviations for its members.
Priests and High Priests
Priests and High Priests of the Children are there to give them direction - A pathway through which to follow in the footsteps of one Wymoira Dorsus. They are greatly respected, and their words are heeded whenever Wymoira's demands would be questioned. Outside of the Order, these members are more likely highly trained scholars and possibly mages who have studied history and the works of Wymoira Dorsus in order to get a clear picture on her values, morals and goals.Lectors
Lector is a person responsible for the upkeep of a meeting. A lector is chosen only after a meeting has ended, and they are to serve as caretakers for the next meeting. Lectors choose the meeting place, arrange all of the necessary paperwork to make it possible for the meeting to happen in secrecy and send out invitations. Until that meeting is ended, they own the title of a Lector and it is their responsibility to ensure the comfortness of other participants as well as their safety.Charters
With great interest in ancient sites of ancient elven cities, Charters are most often in their life outside of the Order scholars, academics and nobles. Charters have the important role of paying attention to global events around them. As the Order attempts to work near-globally when possible, even far-away rumors are followed through in hopes of gaining motes of knowledge or information on whereabouts of ruined elven sites and cultures. The Devout
Title used on the more practical members of the order. Often knights, soldiers or scouts, The Devout are tasked in the rare occurrance when the Dorsus Noxa need to act physically with the world. Sometimes an archaeological digsite might have a foreman who is in truth a Devout, or a caravan of merchants might have a Devout among them. Tasks the Devout complete are varied and often veiled in mystery, possibly even to themselves.Disciples
Disciples of Dorsus Noxa are nearly always people of power, or persons who have power to change things around them. As a person like this becomes interested, they are nearly always hand-picked by a Noxae to join their ranks. Through complex rites of passing, the whole truth of Dorsus Noxa is revealed to these disciples one step at a time. At the end of each step, their desires are confirmed in if they still wish to join the Order.Culture
Those following the Veiled Truth of Dorsus believe in the words of the long-death heretic, having them echo throughout history. According to them, as elf history barely covers any facts of their former masters, it was these ancient masters of the elves who granted the world such civilization, intelligence and wisdom. Therefore the late followers of Wymoira Dorsus have a single goal in mind: To study the past in order to understand the future. To learn what happened to the ancient masters and to commune with them once again.
Public Agenda
In rare occasions when a member of the Dorsus Noxa decides to out themselves and speak of the Order, they speak most often the truth. Of dreams of a golden age, where the ancient masters could once again coexist with their children to grant a whole new age of prosperity. An age and time that could not be dreamed of before.
