Obsidian Caverns
"Those caves, they ain't natural. Many similarities are shared with crytps 'n' catacombs of old high elven architecture. Did their masters delve deep below ground in history? If so, what did they do to all of the people that followed them?" - Archaeologist Hieronomous Bontar of Deepburrow
Geography
Obsidian Caverns is the name used for a cave system beneath the lonely, western mountain of Old Godivan woods. These caverns have earned their name through the strange, black metal present on so many winding pathways and in the maze-like structure of the caves. This metal is similar to the metal used as a foundation in many high elven cities. The caves themselves have long been abandoned and are filled mostly with underground monsters and creatures of the dark, such as giant spiders and pale fishers. The caverns are accessible only through rare tunnels that descent deep beneath earth from the roots of the mountain, or through Deepburrows, the nearest dwarven settlement.
