Ray's Pass

Village of slow mornings and steady evenings

  Ray's Pass is a large town known for its steady, calm life. People willing to work honestly for their gold might just find an environment here where to raise their offspring, and where their children's children might as well prosper. Ray's Pass is protected by the rest of Aprastan. Belonging to a province of Praesidium, Ray's Pass has proved to be a prosperous town over the course of last few decades. With its lands defended by both the mages of Arcana Praesidium and the high mountains inhabited by the students of Arcana Ignis, these valiant protectors have given Ray's Pass more than enough room to grow and to show its promise of a better tomorrow to all those interested.

Demographics

Most living in Ray's Pass are humans, but the settlement has found prosperity among the smaller folk, halflings who are drawn in by the simple lifestyle, and gnomes who enjoy the good company of folk of Ray's Pass. Most living here are rural farmers and the most prosperous trade comes from Ray's Passes massive potato farms. Due to it being in a centric location of Aprastan, guerilla-attacks of wood elves have never been an issue to the locals living here.

Government

Ray's Pass has many traditions birhted from the joy of creation and being kind to one another. According to one of these traditions, Ray's Pass is ruled by the Mayor Couple. Similar to a King and Queen they share responsibility on Ray's Pass and its fortunes and due to two heads being greater than one, many disputes rising in town can be calmed down by the Couple understanding both sides of any born issue.

Ray's Pass is known for its wide fields, many windmills and large potato fields.

Points of interest

Ray's Pass has a name that has been granted to it by a saying. According to a common proverb, Ray's Pass gets awake "by the ray of the sun". The idyllic village is built on several small hills. Early risers get to action few minutes before those living on highest hills and here, unlike the call of the rooster, sun dictates ones working day. If the weather is foul then it presents a simple solution to the people of Ray's Pass: On a day like that, there is no work to be done at all.

Architecture

Aquamarine colours fill the town of Ray's Pass. It's pastel-like wooden buildings sprout from different sides of multiple hills, some further away due to their farm locations while others form tightly-knit neighbourly communities.
