Roaringburn Current

Phenomenom bordering the unnatural

On a strip of the Lavish Sea, slightly off to the east from the Cauldron of Creation there is a current so profound and strong, that it requires specialized inventions in order to travel it. The current is far stronger than any other on any known oceans, and it is known to be able to tear down a ship not prepared to travel it and to destroy sails not closed during travel.
During a race to "tame the current", a company finally emerged as victor. The Swiftwater Transporting Service has made the Roaringburn Current it's staple on any routes directed towards the continent of Bravalon from the Cauldron of Creation.

Mysterious Origins

While no-one knows exactly where the Roaringburn originates or how it remains on the same spot year after year, some scholars have suggested the possibility of violent volcanic activity on the sea floor causing this strange phenomenom. This is supported by the fact on how there's a strange, sulphur-like odor near the Roaringburn current, clearly made out by those traveling it for the first time. Although even this theory lacks to explain the strange, green glow of the water where the Roaringburn resides. A glow gleaming enough to illuminate the Roaringburn in dark nights.
Valid survey of fishlife has been difficult to conduct here without the proper assistance of magic, and with the Dragani Empire lacking on that field of science, further investigation is yet to be done. However it has been speculated that any underwater life would have it difficult living near the Roaringburn and even fishes accustomed to exploiting currents, such as dolphins, seem to avoid the Roaringburn.   Inspiration behind the Roarinburn
Roaringburn Current is a nod to the marvelous author, Brian Jacques, who introduced the vibrant world of Redwall to the world. Even if the current near Cauldron of Creation shares its similar name, there is a quite more profound mystery behind its existence. Rest in Peace Brian Jacques, 15.6.1939 - 5.8.2011
