Tour of the Lands

In a warmly lit study filled with maps, curios, and ancient tomes, Trevor Ganstead, the renowned explorer, sits at a broad wooden desk. His silver hair falls in soft waves over his brow as he carefully dips his quill into an inkpot. The candlelight flickers, casting dancing shadows on the parchment before him. With a thoughtful gaze, Trevor begins to write, his hand moving swiftly yet deliberately across the page.   "As I pen these words, I am reminded of the vastness of Tavomia and the countless adventures it holds. From the icy peaks of Khazadan to the storm-tossed Isles of Mists, this world never ceases to amaze me. Each day, I uncover new secrets, and yet, I know I have only scratched the surface of what Tavomia has to offer. My hope is that this guide will inspire others to embark on their own journeys, to explore the unknown and to create their own legends within this boundless realm."   He pauses, a slight smile tugging at his lips as he envisions the many adventurers who will one day follow in his footsteps, each adding their own stories to the tapestry of Tavomia.
This guide will take you through the diverse regions of Tavomia, offering glimpses into each area's unique landscapes, cultures, and challenges. From the nations of the Northern Alliance to the blistering deserts of Rashir, this tour provides an overview for adventurers ready to explore, discover, and make their mark.

Kingdoms of the North

The Northern Alliance is a coalition of independent kingdoms united by a shared desire for freedom and resistance against external threats. The region includes Landora, an island nation renowned for its cultural sophistication and vibrant markets. Here, trade flourishes, and adventurers can find work with knightly orders like the Order of the Rose and the Light Bringers.   In the forests and tundra of Yurvonia, the nature-loving Yurvonians live alongside the Stoneborn of Mount Khazadan. Known for their strength, craftsmanship, and mastery of rune magic, the Stoneborn offer adventurers opportunities to forge alliances and explore ancient tunnels and hidden forges. Sholeon, a land of open plains and rolling hills, is home to skilled horse riders and archers. Adventurers here can join nomadic tribes or test their skills in the saddle in a land where traditions run deep and battles are fierce.

Khazadan

Khazadan is the mountainous homeland of the Stoneborn—also known as the Khazad. This region is centered around a massive dormant volcano, where the Stoneborn have built their great city. Known for their exceptional craftsmanship and unyielding spirit, the Stoneborn harness the volcanic heat for their renowned smithing, crafting weapons and armor of unmatched quality. For adventurers, Khazadan offers an opportunity to learn from these skilled artisans, to explore the deep tunnels and ancient halls, and perhaps uncover long-forgotten secrets of their ancient history.

The Frozen Wastes

Beyond the mountains of Yurvonia lie the Frozen Wastes, a desolate land of snow and ice. This harsh environment is home to the Baern, a powerful race of bear-folk known for their combat prowess and deep connection to the land. The Baern live in small family units but gather once a year in the Frozen City, where they forge weapons from Frozen Steel and discuss matters of importance during the Frost Moot.   Life in the Frozen Wastes is one of stark beauty and unforgiving conditions. The Baern thrive in this icy wilderness, using their natural strength and resilience to survive. Adventurers who venture into the Frozen Wastes must be prepared for extreme cold, dangerous wildlife, and the unyielding nature of the Baern. Those who gain the trust of these formidable folk may uncover the hidden secrets buried beneath the ice and participate in the Frost Moot, learning about the history and traditions of the Baern.

The Jukkhag

The Jukkhag, located on the eastern border of Yurvonia and the northern border of Sholeon, is a harsh region dominated by the Raging Orc Clans. These orcs, once human, were twisted into monstrous warriors during the War of the Divine by Morgesh. Now driven by a psychotic rage, they live only to destroy all other races. The orcs reproduce rapidly and are relentless in their aggression, making them a constant threat to nearby regions.   Although concentrated in Jukkhag, small bands of orcs can be found throughout Tavomia, often threatening isolated communities and travelers. Adventurers venturing into Jukkhag must be prepared for constant combat against these formidable foes, who will stop at nothing to achieve their destructive goals.

The Wild Lands

East of Sholeon, beyond the mountains, lies the Wild Lands, a vast expanse of towering pine and redwood trees. This dense woodland is the homeland of the Wolfren, a race of fierce wolf-like humanoids who live in harmony with the natural world. The Wolfren are known for their deep spiritual connection to the forest and their reverence for the natural balance of life and death, acting as its fierce protectors.   The Wild Lands are also deeply intertwined with the Fey Wilds, a mystical realm that overlaps with Tavomia in certain areas of the forest. The presence of ancient Fey magic permeates the air, making navigation treacherous for those unprepared for its illusions and trickery. The Fey Elders, ancient and powerful beings who govern the Fey Wilds, watch over this region with keen interest. Adventurers in the Wild Lands may find themselves aided or hindered by these enigmatic beings, encountering hidden groves, ancient spirits, and lost relics of great power.

The Isles of Mists

Located in the sea between Ketosa and Rashir, the Isles of Mists are a collection of islands shrouded in fog and mystery. The most famous of these is Freeport on Crescent Island, a bustling hub of trade and adventure known as 'The Port That Never Sleeps.' Freeport is a melting pot of cultures, home to the League of Explorers, and serves as a gateway to countless adventures.   The surrounding islands are no less intriguing, with rumors of hidden pirate cities, mystical Alantri havens, and dangerous waters filled with sea monsters and Khenari slavers. For adventurers seeking both fortune and danger, the Isles of Mists offer a land of opportunity and peril, where lost treasures and ancient ruins await those daring enough to explore them.

The Kunai Straits

The Kunai Straits, located between Ketosa and Rashir, are known for their violent storms and treacherous waters. These seas are home to the Scaleborn, a rare and enigmatic race formed by the cataclysmic energies of the Rebirth. Revered as scholars and seekers of ancient knowledge, the Scaleborn live in secluded compounds on remote islands, dedicating their lives to the study of magic, celestial signs, and ancient lore.   Despite their isolation, the Scaleborn are sought out by those who seek their wisdom in matters of history and magic. Adventurers navigating the Kunai Straits may find invaluable guidance and knowledge, as well as insight into the arcane mysteries that surround these turbulent waters.

The Lands of Rashir

To the south lies Rashir, a land of stark contrasts and diverse landscapes. From the bustling trade cities of the Nubindi Merchant Princes to the unforgiving deserts of the Shifting Sands, Rashir is a region where strength and cunning are essential for survival.   The northern coastal cities, ruled by the Nubindi Merchant Princes, are centers of trade and intrigue, while the Shifting Sands are home to the fierce Rashanni Tribes, feline humanoids with a deep-seated hatred for the Khenari. Deep within the southern jungles, the Khenari dark elves dwell in the Dread City of Veshobeth, making Rashir a region of exploration, discovery, and danger.   Rashir also features the Kun'kruk Crater, a mysterious mile-deep depression surrounded by a jungle of strange mutations. The western coast, known as the Savage Coast, is a place of sandy beaches and dense palm forests, where danger lurks both on land and at sea.

Dashora

South of Rashir, the twin islands of Dashora are shrouded in darkness and tangled jungles. These cursed lands are sacred to the Khenari and are said to hide a path to Labrynthia, the fabled prison of Dashiva. Adventurers who set foot on Dashora must be prepared for the malevolent energy that permeates the land, where shadows and darkness reign supreme.   It is whispered that the Blood Queen herself makes pilgrimages to Dashora to commune with Dashiva, though what transpires during these secretive rituals remains shrouded in mystery and fear. For those who dare to explore Dashora, be warned: the island does not forgive, and it does not let go.

The Escali Empire

On the continent of Sunora, the Escali Empire is a powerful human civilization known for its strict matriarchal society and devotion to arcane magic. Ruled by Empress Isadora Escalara and the Hermandad, the Empire is a land of opportunity and strict control, where magical prowess determines social status.   The Empire is a place of grand cities filled with magical wonders and ancient secrets, but also rigid laws, especially against male magic users. Adventurers will find a land of stark contrasts: wealth and power alongside resistance and rebellion, with the Cimmir rebels hiding in the eastern forests, aiding those seeking to escape the Empress’s rule.

The Isles of Stars

Off the eastern coast of the Escali Empire lie the Isles of Stars, the mystical homeland of the Alantri, an ancient elven race deeply connected to magic and the Dream. While once immortal, the Alantri gave up this gift for greater mastery over magic, a sacrifice that led to a civil war known as the Kindred Wars. This conflict left the southern Isles cursed with dark magic.   Today, the Alantri live under the guidance of the Court of Stars, enforcing order to prevent any resurgence of darkness. The Isles are a land of beauty and danger, where enchanted forests conceal ancient knowledge and powerful artifacts. Adventurers who explore these lands tread a fine line between wonder and peril.

The Isles of Hanau

The Isles of Hanau are a tranquil archipelago, home to the Makou, a race of gentle, turtle-like humanoids known for their wisdom and peaceful nature. Dominated by the sacred Great Volcano, these islands are rich with spiritual significance and ancient cave networks believed to house powerful relics.   The Makou live in harmony with their environment, and adventurers seeking peace or deeper knowledge will find the Isles of Hanau a haven of tranquility and wisdom. However, those who wish to explore the deeper mysteries must first prove themselves to the Makou, earning their trust and respect.

The Forbidden Lands of Saitoris

To the south of the Escali Empire lie the Forbidden Lands of Saitoris, a mysterious continent of high cliffs and broken shores. This dangerous region is home to giant reptiles and strange rites, making it the ultimate challenge for adventurers seeking the unknown. The journey to Saitoris is fraught with peril, with tales of serpent folk and ancient ziggurats awaiting those brave enough to explore.

The Southern Seas

Beyond the known world, the Southern Seas are an expanse of churning waters and violent storms, where reality breaks down and chaos reigns. No ship has ever returned from these seas, making it the final frontier for adventurers seeking the ultimate test of courage and skill.
