Providence
Providence is village on the edge of the frontier, on the west side of the mouth of the Terreboia River and the north side of the Spectral Quag. It was founded as a military outpost for the Ashana League and grew quickly due to the location of the city on the Terreboia River. The river allowed for easy transportation of goods to the fort from north, and the timber that surrounded the outpost allowed for quick development of the town.
As the town developed and the League enhanced its laws, the need for a prison to hold criminals became more apparent. With the easy access via the adjacent river and the military command present, Providence became the preeminent choice for the new prison. With the development of Woodford Penitentiary, Providence saw a short burst of growth as infrastructure and people came to support the new industry and the expanding military presence. As the Ashana League dissolved, Providence became an independent city-state that remained focused on military presence, and maintains neutrality whenever possible. This allows them to continue working with those communities, taking in prisoners, and being paid a monthly sum to hold those prisoners.
Providence was built with a wooden palisade wall that was quickly developed after the first couple of Goblin attacks, first installing a stone wall and then upgrading to a fortified wall after the construction of Woodford Penitentiary. Because of the location on the frontier, Providence developed a robust, diversified population.

On the morning of a cool spring day in the month of Zaelech 2945, the alarm sounded with a goblin attack at the western gate. Shortly afterwards, a large explosion rocked the town and the northeast corner of Providence was blown into the river below. In the blast, the keep and command posts were destroyed, killing the Magistrate and one of the Commanders.
