Life, Death
Four months after suffering a massive heart attack that left the sovereign mostly bed ridden, Queen Victoria the Second passed away peacefully.
While the sovereign had been deteriorating for some time, the passing of Queen Victoria II was not immediately expected. She had spent most of the previous four months convelescing in Buckingham Palace, mostly bed ridden. The morning of her passing was like any other morning. She arose at 7am and spent the morning going through her boxes and working with her private secretary. At approximately 9:45, Her Majesty complained of suddenly being quite tired and she decided that a nap was in order. At 10:30, Sir Philip Peterborough entered Her Majesty's room to wake her and found that the Queen had passed away, seemingly peacefully, in her sleep. Peterborough informed the Prime Minister as well as the new King. Unfortunately, due to a mishap in Downing Street, news began to spread faster than the Palace had intended, forcing them to make a public announcement regarding the death of Her Majesty the Queen before many members of the Royal Family even knew.
