Necrona, The Faceless Lich

There are some stories of mortals taking the place of great and powerful gods and ascending to such heights it astounds the mind. Then, there is the tale of Necrona. A brilliant magus in life, but the woman would not give into her mortal shell and crafted an immortal body for herself so powerful that she was able to ascend as a leader of all liches and undead. Wearing not only her face preserved, but others, to the point where she wore none with her multiple eyes, the large crest and skull held within an intelligence that made one of the most dangerous foes the world over. In her shows of power, she built a necropolis that soared into the air and ushered in the War of the Air. She was felled in the final battles of the conflict, and found herself finally meeting her end.
