The War of the White Queen

The land is cold this time of year, but the blossoms have begun to sprout once more with the receding of the darker clouds from the west. There is a peace that has fallen over the once terrible and massively destroyed landscape that the dragons sought to conquer once more into their empires. Nearly successful as at least half of the Assarian Empire had been crushed underfoot by the sheer strength of those from her whim.   We were lucky really. In the coming years that the battle escalated, even before I myself had gotten involved, their had been numerous civil wars during the time period. Each met with more and more blood behind the lines that slowed their progress. I fear that a greater darkness would have taken over the land and completely overtaken the continent underneath dragon's wings.   Though, our journey began humbly as we all could have imagined. Miss Tress and I had made our way north from Orovia in years prior after our escape from that dark temple we talked about a few times in the past, though I prefer to not linger on the details of such a place. She had just regained her confidence with her blade and regrown her connection with her people while we escaped and fought our way out heavily outnumbered. It was...a remarkable journey to witness, a shame it came to the end that it did, but what an ending. Her people could not be more proud.   I myself had just begun to really regain control of my mental facilities. Through the course of the War I found more and more strength flowing into me with the more confidence and strength that I found in both myself and the friends I surrounded myself with. There is something to be said about...random groups of people pulled together through either fate, destiny, or random happenstance. Perhaps I should...look into this coming in the future with some of the problems arising.   Our good friend that joined us quickly surprised me. At first I didn't expect him more than just a simple thief, assassin, or man running from the law. I was surprised when he first revealed his power and strength, though not as surprised as I suppose I let on in this notation. He always had a sense of duty with his commentary or otherwise. Master Rhae is quite the perceptive individual now however. But his journey himself was an interesting one that I grew fond of in time. I know he will one day become a great emperor for the massive empire he calls home.   The elven friend we came upon however, I have not heard from. Cairen, dark in magic, and stronger in power than most of us, I was originally wary of his strength and where it came from. However with such a...contrast of violence on the battlefield to a softness when speaking with the woman that earned his attention, and eventually a blossoming love, I grew to respect him. But I have not heard from him in months, and I fear that grief lies heavy upon him. Perhaps it is better if he finds his own path. Eventually.   Our small friend, Gilda. She was the one I was the most regretful for. With such a facade of joy, of life, and happiness, she was the saddest of the bunch of us. Her family disowned her for her skill with her chosen weapon, and her stubbornness to not adapt to the traditions of Ghe'tani stuck with her like a heavy cloak. I believe she shared herself and her truly feelings with most of us before she was gone in the end, but...there is more that I would have liked to uncover from her. She will be missed, and remembered.   The last on our journey who we found in...the most dire of situations finds herself reborn. The Naga'tani have always been a resilient people despite their normally thin bodies, and of all people to bear such malice, she was certainly one of them. Vei'lla has blossomed more than I could ever hope to in my own time. From such a disparate state, to now being the sky captain of Pov'rakea and in charge of the entire fleet, such a growth. I do look forward to seeing her whenever I return to this location.   Tress showed to the world through our companionship that no matter how small someone is, they can stand up to the monumental power and sheer violence of the world. While, yes, she did contain a Soul Gem for the final confrontation, the sheer weight of the world was on her shoulders in that moment. I was surprised to find the devastation and destruction she had left in the wake of her moment. My people have whispered among the trees that the vale is renamed to Tressvale, and a city is being rebuilt around her conflict in her honor for saving the continent. I am unsure how I feel about such worship. Perhaps in time the forests may blossom once more from the biting cold.   As for the state of the land after the battle however, I still find myself a bit worried, though I suppose that runs in the family. With many cities left sundered and destroyed in not just the Assarian Empire, though it did receive the worst treatment with the sheer and utter destruction of Veifarlon at the onset of the war, many empires across the continent find themselves weaker. I give it...20 years at most before they begin subverting themselves again, especially the Monarchy in the Darklands.   There is a darkness still on the lands. The Land of Eternal Night keeps it name no matter what dark evil lingers over the terrain. From dragons flying and destroying and crashing and murdering, there is a great and terrible darkness I see coming in the north. I worry for the sake of the coming years despite the peace that remains currently. I can only hope that all of these...Great Magical Wars have passed. The world holds very few heroes, and needs them greatly.
  • With my care, Sister,

In the northern lands of Aldaria, during the Draconic Age the second of two ancient and monstrously sized creatures bore forth upon the mortal denizens of the world. The empires of the land came under siege from the creatures from the north when a terrible wrath of a dragon far larger than any other Boneshark previously burst from the earth beneath ground. While not involving herself in much of the conflict until the very end, there was a terrible show and display of power that won over the initial attention of the dragons. Above is a small retelling of the tale, written by none other than Kelreanas Da in the aftermath.
