War of the Sea

In deep darkness below the waters of Te'za, many creatures beautiful and monstrous exist in a great many numbers. During this time period, much of the hidden world of the oceans below and their protectors was revealed to select parts of the world, especially around the Shattered Isles. Though, some effects were seen the world over, as whole portions of continents were flooded for some time, or left devastated even after the effect such as in south-western Aldaria. 

The Conflict

Prelude

The building darkness surged upwards more and more as the many magical wards and signal fires across the ocean depths began to fire and trigger, alerting the growth of ancient dark powers beneath the waves.

Deployment

Many Vosh'tani and other sea-faring folk ventured forth in great numbers to stave off the coming creatures. There were fairly unprepared for the sheer immensity of these monsters.

Undersea ocean and coastlines across the globe.

Conditions

Not most favorable conditions, as large creatures meant to destroy and shatter worlds do not really give surrender options.

The Engagement

Huge battles tearing into the creatures and the attackers alike. Often times taking out scores of the onslaught before a final defeat. Though often no clear winner in the beginning.

Outcome

With the large surge of deep massive creatures destroyed for now, the oceans became calmer once more.

Aftermath

The weakening boundaries of the planes and other tethers would set the stage for the much worse coming darkness.

Historical Significance

Told as a glorious battle, the heavy losses sustained by the Vosh'tani is mostly unknown to the outside world, as much of these people are stemmed in myth and folklore anyway.

Legacy

The lasting impression left on the people of this war spawned a great many sea tales and horrible visages created in some of the monster's images.

In Literature

Many great tales of people fighting off massive sea monsters, stories of monsters fighting one another, and so on spawned from this war.

Technological Advancement

Magical means of travel through water and other titan-killing magics were invented and tested during this period.
