This campaign will be a mix of steampunk, high fantasy, and (hopefully) the political dynamics of the "Mega corps" or guilds. If you know anything about Cyberpunk and the influence that the corporations have there... this will be a semi-similar setting in that regard. The general idea is that this game takes place in the far flung future from SKT. Magic fully returned, and blossomed back to its previous prominence since before its sealing. In those interim centuries without magic, technology made leaps and bounds to cover the sudden loss of magic, which had massively affected infrastructure and civil defense. Since magic's return those many centuries ago, the two have progressed together and even blended together to form "Magi-tech". While the hero's of yore are still spoken of, much of their stories is incorporated into children's stories and that of fantasy novels. Afterall, who would believe that people so technologically and magically stunted could accomplish what they did. Surely there has been some exaggeration in their accomplishments simply due to the passage of time. No one person or group could realistically slay the Tiamat, Dragon Queen... A God. Or that a small group knitted the fabric of magic back together through their actions in restoration of the Ordaning of the Giantfolk, while simultaneously mending the rift in the planes through the restoration of the Queen of the Shadowfell... could they? Timeframe for this campaign: This campaign is set about 3600 years in the future from traditional Faerun.. specifically in the year 5000. As such, I will not be using a Faerun map, as much terraforming has happened in the interim millennia. Previous characters are legendary heros of yore woven into the myths and legends of current day. Styling: Steampunk esq High Fantasy. Large world with character driven plot lines, with consequences and rewards from their actions. The group may be uniquely situated to change the world around them. For better or worse, only time will tell.
