Anscharia

A militaristic nation in northeastern Europe. The people who would eventually form Kumarikhanda originated from this area. Anscharia sits on some of the only deposits of impervium accessible to surface dwellers, and has been invaded multiple times over the centuries as various powers vie for control of the rare material. The leadership of Anscharia is outwardly anti-metahuman, claiming such individuals are "unclean" or "degenerate," but there is a secret military program to identify any metahuman children in the country and brainwash them into becoming unquestioning weapons of the state. Anscharia also serves as friendly territory for various villainous organizations like the Black Hand and V.E.N.O.M.. The dictatorship is propped up by these organizations and by the income from state-controlled mercenary groups who hire themselves out to the highest bidder.
