Grace's father is a technocrat and collector of alien and superhero technology. He acquired the original Roboman helmet but was unable to activate it so he put it away in a display case. One day, Grace's parents were on a business trip and she was playing by herself. She accidentally broke the display case and knocked the helmet to the floor. Curious, Grace put the helmet on. It recognized her genius intelligence and, more important, her kind heart, and activated. Grace made a facsimile of the helmet so her parents would suspect nothing and has begun acting as a superhero in secret.
