Grant Madlock
Miz's crush and fellow swim competitor. Grant feels guilty for challenging Miz to a diving contest in which she discovered and was bonded to an ancient suit of Vistari armor. Grant attends West High School. He made several attempts to be friends with Miz but her awkwardness and inability to trust Grant (or her friends) got in the way. With the help of some meddling and manipulation by Tommy, Crystal and Katsumi, Miz eventually got over herself enough to go to Homecoming with Grant.
Grant's father is a disgraced scientist who was involved in the plot by Zoot Suit Riot to steal the technology that created Crystal.
