Issue #3: Field Trip

[WIP] The story begins with a number of flashbacks. Specter and Paradym are dating now and have decided to keep this from the team. That should go well. A.E.G.I.S. has learned of TLDR's alien origins and she will be spending a few weeks away from the team as A.E.G.I.S. examines her and questions her creator, Dr. Caulifer. A.S.H. has been tasked by one of the Dr. Max Hellqvists to join the team in TLDR's absence.
On the first day of a new term at the Parasol School, our heroes are in homeroom. Their new teacher is the Silver Shade, who announces that students will be participating in a field trip in support of Public Service Appreciation Day. Cut to that Friday as the team assembles outside Halcyon City Hall. They are somewhat disappointed that they have been sent to such a boring (and nearby) location while other teams are in space or doing other exciting things.
The group is approached by Charity Campbell, also known as the superhero American Pie. Charity is also the mother of Resonance's "boyfriend," Cody "Homerun" Campbell. Charity tells the team that she put in a word to ensure they were assigned to City Hall and then leads them in to meet the mayor. They also meet Charity's colleague, a brainy superhero named ComputeNick.
As the team is led on a tour of City Hall, Paradym and Specter sneak off to "get coffee." A.S.H. sees through their pathetic attempts at subterfuge and not-so-subtly hints that they're up to something. A.S.H. and Resonance have a private conversation about Resonance's relationship with Homerun and his mother, in which A.S.H. shares his suspicions that Homerun is reasonably likely to take a villainous turn.
Impasse scans the crowd for any threats and identifies a teenage criminal named Swoop in the crowd. She notifies the team and A.S.H. and Resonance draw him into conversation. An awkward and hilarious conversation ensues. As Swoop leaves the team A.S.H. picks up an encrypted transmission in which Swoop reports to an unknown individual, "we've got company."
Meanwhile, Specter and Resonance are indeed getting coffee - or trying to. The coffee shop seems to be in disarray as their machines are broken. Our heroes notice a machine part disappearing into a hole in the wall. They rejoin the team and everyone realizes something nefarious is afoot. A.S.H. transforms into his superhero appearance and the team investigates.
Our heroes learn that there are a proliferation of tunnels inside the walls of City Hall and that these appear to be populated by tiny people. A.S.H. creates a miniature version of himself and animates it, sending it into the tunnels to investigate. Specter and Resonance find Swoop and chat him up. Swoop runs and the two heroes chase him. Resonance relieves Swoop of his communication device and brings this to A.S.H. while Specter uses her amazing combat skills to capture him.
Realizing an attack of some sort may be imminent, A.S.H. and Resonance put on a display and begin evacuating the building, the heroes in charge (Apple Pie and ComputeNick) having previously been called away on some other business. Lulu is among the students touring City Hall and she helps with the evacuation. The others attempt to locate the mayor but he is not in his office.
Before all the visitors and workers at City Hall can get to safety, the entire building is shunted into a pocket dimension.
