Mermaid's Kiss

The Shuhor Aleira, or "Mermaid's Kiss," is a gift given by the Kumari people to trusted allies from the surface. Drinking the pearlescent fluid imparts the ability to breathe underwater and general adaptation to the deep ocean environment.

History

The original Shuhor Aleira was an alchemical concoction that was difficult to create. After the death of the First Queen of Kumarikhanda, the mechanism that produced this substance ceased functioning. Thanks to the foresight of the current Queen and the ingenuity of Doctor Darwin, a new and improved version was created that not only restored aquatic adaptation powers to the Kumari populace but also conveys permanent (or at least much longer lasting) benefits to the imbiber.
