Clay was brought up in a deeply religious setting. His church discovered his abilities and used them to draw crowds for revival services. Disillusioned by the corruption of the church elders and his family's complicity, Clay left and moved to Halcyon City. He still maintains a fan base among the devout (especially younger members) due to his wholesome image, but is also starting to gain broader fame as he breaks out of the mold. Clay struggles with the programming of his church as he explores his true identity. One thing he holds onto is the desire to bring deception and corruption into the light of day.
