Aiesha's dad is technically an alien - his ancestors were humans who were abducted from Earth and who lived on a variety of worlds for generations. He returned to Earth and hid among the populace, eventually getting married to Aiesha's mother. When she turned 13, Aiesha's dad revealed his secret. When he later disappeared, she used the technology he left behind to try and find him. Her mother doesn't approve, but is glad that Aiesha is back on Earth for now.
