Marquadhia
Structure
Marquadhia is ruled by a council of merchants, each specializing in a particular area of trade. Though there are endless different products to trade, the the five merchants who made the most income in the past year are chosen each year to the council.
Public Agenda
The Marquadeshi value money above all else. To them, haggling is the finest of arts and personal wealth the highest form of personal value. An individual skilled in the arts of business can quickly rise to the highest social standing, and their methodology might not always be the most just.
Assets
Though all manner of trade flows through Marquadhia, the Marquadeshi pride themselves on their skilled gem-cutters. Marquadhia processes most of Telandor's Ether-gems and trade Etherium in bulk. They also trade in silks and spices that are common on Oquix
History
Marquadhia was founded by the trade-prince Yolthar Markhado who had made a fortune trading silks across the sea of storms. He slowly built a settlement at the shores of Oquix that over-time grew to become the city Marquadesh. As people started gathering and trading in the city, and later through the deserts surrounding it, the entire region came to be called Marquadhia.
