Raga

The title raga is the name for a oroc'mac clan leader, akin to a chief. Ragas are usually males, and have demonstrated the greatest strength and wisdom to lead their clan. Most ragas control only their respective clans, but in certain instances a raga can command and lead several clans and rule over other ragas. These are known as macaraga. There has only been two known instances of one being ruling over all of the oroc'mac and commanding many macaraga, and these are known as vakaragas.

Requirements

Ragas are always males, except in rare circumstances where a female can be one. In addition, a raga must have passed a gulagga and most ragas have gone through several.

Appointment

Ragas are often the son of the previous raga, and upon their death are usually excepted into the position by the clan elders and leaders. This is, however, a chance for others who think themselves worthy of the position to fight for the role. Elders often chose either a duel or a special gulagga to settle the dispute.   The appointment of the raga is carried out by the thugiur and thugreol, who each call upon the powers of nature and the fel to empower the oroc'mac, transforming him into a strong and powerful being capable of guarding and leading his people.
