Calamity

Calamity (a.k.a. "the Ruinous")

Of those that ancient things that would come from the dark to become the first of our gods, there were none as dark, or as mysterious as the bringer of ruin, Calamity. It is said that the god Calamity never speaks. His voice is the booming of thunder in a coming storm. The wail of the devastated souls left in its wake.   Worshipped by few amongst the goodly races of the world. Calamity holds sway over the powers of destruction. Where his gaze goes, disaster follows. His most notable followers are the dragons, who acknowledge and honor Calamity as their creator.   For this reason, Calamity is a hated entity, particularly by humankind since it was the dragons who destroyed Belon, the First City, enslaved humankind and ushered in the Age of Ruin.

Personal history

Calamity was one of the first gods. Among those few who descended from the starry void to create all we know. Calamity has always been, and it's not hard to believe he always will. A force of nature in the universe, for as there is a beginning for all things, so too must there be an end. When Tellaeron was forged, and seeded with life, it was Calamity that first caused death. It was also Calamity who created the dragons, the perfect predators who ruled the Age of Myth.
