Chain Boat

Chain Boats are a special type of riverboat that use a steel chain laid along a riverbed for its propulsion. The chain is pulled out of the water on a boom by an Elemental Engine, pulled through a drum winch, and then put back onto the river bed by a boom on the opposite end of the vessel. Because of their design, Chain Boats could move in both directions along the chain. A number of chain boats are used along both Shadowmountain Run and the Vaincrag Tributary to facilitate river crossings.
