The original infiltrator class arose from the need to quickly sneak into another humanoid settlement and steal supplies, or stir up trouble with arson or other mayhem. This practice was so common that the more cultured woodland races (particularly elves and gnomes) eventually adopted it for striking back.

A rogue variant class, this class merges features of the rogue and the ranger.

Equivalent in 5e is Rogue Scout
