Kalamar is a Psionic world, there are races, organizations and monsters that are psionically oriented.
Psionic characters are unusual in Tellene, but not unheard of. The psionic trait is often found among the golden halflings in the Lopoliri Mountains. In humans, psionic characters appear to be concentrated within certain desert tribes of the Elos and Khydoban deserts, though they may be found in all areas and human races of Tellene. Because of the history of psionic persecution, psionic characters are unlikely to display their powers openly. The Disciples of Avrynner, a hidden psionic organization, reveal themselves only to other psionicists or to those who have the power and do not yet know it.
