Chalcedonian Monarchy
The Chalcedonian Monarchy has a long and storied history and has changed in form and substance over the centuries. Once, it was not dissimilar to Prehn, governed by a council of Alderman and the Moot Court.
After The Monarch's Crucible, the northern region united under one High King, Oswald Cyning, and the Monarchy was born.
The War of Broken Mountains greatly altered the ideological and religious tapestry of the north, and ultimately resulted in the formal creation of the Kingdom of Chalcedon and the Chalcedonian Monarchy.
The bloodshed of The Monarch's Crucible made multi-family rule entirely unappealing, and the monarchy has been hereditary ever since the First High King's rule. The Sundered Assemblage was the only time that hereditary rule has been upset. The current ruling family is the Blenkinsopps, with King Luther Reuben Blenkinsopp as Bearer of the Gearheart Coronet.
The seat of the monarchy is Brassvale Bastion, located on the Floating Isle of Minster.
The monarchy works in cooperation with The Assemblage, made of representatives from The Peerage.
