Military: Battle
The Battle of the Dunes marked the beginning of aggression between the settlements of the North and those of the South. The peoples who settled in the North were sped along in their development of settlements and cities by the less hospitable climate and thus achieved a more cohesive and technologically advanced society before the peoples of the South. It didn't take terribly long for those more advanced societies to attempt to exploit the more agrarian society of the South, and their first foray was The Battle of the Dunes, in which ships from Penrose and Galena made landfall north of what is now the village of Centmoor and marched on Old Erytheia. The inhabitants had long since abandoned their warrior heritage and lived peaceful lives that were abruptly and violently ended at the hands of the invaders. This battle sparked the War of Bloody Shores.
