Overland Travel in Pax
Travelling through the civilized lands of Pax can actually be a pleasant affair. People are generally nice to one another, greeting each other with a hearty salutation and a friendly wave. The Kingdoms maintains the roads very well, and the regular guard patrols have made them safe to travel on. Camp sites have been cleared and stocked with firewood near streams, or wells, and they are safe enough to overnight at when an inn is just too far away.
That is hardly ever a problem throughout the The Unified Kingdoms of Craysilt! The Kingdoms have been flourishing since the end of the The Kobold Accord, and there is seemingly an inn at every crossroads. Wonderful places to stay for an evening, or a week, these bunk houses always have taprooms attached to them that feature music and dancing, free Lobscouse with the purchase of a mug of ale, and they invariably host a plethora of disparate personalities from all over the Unified Kingdoms.
That being said, there are exceptions. There are far-flung reaches of the Kingdoms that are still, technically, frontier, having been more recently conquered as the Kobold Wars petered out. The Impenetrable Forest of Birkwud, also, is difficult to traverse, and has its own set of challenges to endure.
In conclusion, travel safely and wisely. There are still highwaymen and bandits prowling the deep woods, afraid to show their faces in the light of day; and wildlife roams freely throughout the rural townships. Care and consideration for hydration and nourishment are also highly encouraged. Travel in groups, whenever possible, and keep valuables hidden away from sight. Be prepared for the worst, but chances are, travelling through the civilized lands will cause wayfarers little to no trouble at all.
