‘Pandora Skydale’ is an alias. Her real name is Portia Fallowfield
‘Pandora’ was born to a noble and wealthy family in Serephina, Taisha. Her parents Temperance and Thomas Fallowfield bought her up into a life of luxury and privilege (and she hated it) Everything she ever wanted or needed was given to her. There was no challenge, no graft, no excitement.
While her parents taught her to be the personification of sophistication, ‘Pandora’ began to test the boundaries with tutors and her elders, playing pranks and picking pockets. At the age of 16, her parents spoke of their wishes for her to go to college and study herbalism (something she has no interest in and finds hideously boring). Seeing a need to escape this life, she faked her own abduction and held herself at ransom. On receiving the ransom money, she bolted and left the life of luxury behind her.
She changed her name and look and became ‘Pandora Skydale’. While on her travels, searching for excitement and the thrill of the great wide world, she fell in with the wrong crowd and found herself recruited by the assassin’s guild in Greynor. They took her in and began training her in the art of getting the drop on your target. She enjoyed the training and made a friend within the guild, Turp the goblin, who shared the same attitudes as her. As her first assignment she was given her targets to eliminate….her own parents! Rather than refuse the contract, she did what had worked before, vanishing into the night without a word, covering her tracks as best she could, hiding herself from those who are no doubt searching for her, and sending word to her parents anonymously that they were being targeted and to take necessary precautions.
While on the road, travelling alone and starving, she happened across an elderly gentleman travelling along with a sack of bread and a bag of gold. She held him at sword-point and demanded his possessions. However, he lifted his walking stick to attack her and without a second thought she instinctively ran him through with her sword… Horrified by her instant reaction, she attempted to bury the body and made her way along the road as quickly as she could. If she ever speaks of this time she would say that ‘the old man provoked her and he got what was coming to him’, where as deep down, she regrets her actions.
‘Pandora’ can be impulsive, especially when there is an opportunity for her to test her skills and try her luck. She loves to keep things light, and lacking real social interaction with ‘real people’ she thinks the best way to make friends is the mess with them. She is a compulsive liar (mainly because she wants to see how much she can get away with) and will rarely tell the truth, unless she can use it to her advantage.
‘Pandora’ has decided that she wants to join a team of adventurers because, while she sees herself as independent, people can be manipulated and exploited in order to keep her protected from those who may be after her. Although she knows people are useful commodities, she deep down longs to belong to a ‘family’ that accepts her for who she is.
Deep down she is a good person, but she just can’t help herself sometimes.
