Tortle

A race and ethnicity of sea-turtle-like bipedes with a real talent for saling, and ninjutsu. They carry natural armor with them wherever they go, can swim just as fast as they walk, and are able to hold their breath for a very long time.   They are also natively from one place on the planet; the maritime nation of Terrapin Isle.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Having many of the same traits as sea turtles...leatherbacks, to be more precise...our Tortle bretheren carry their armored shell with them wherever they go! They can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes.

Genetics and Reproduction

Once per year, mated couples will lay and fertilize eggs. There is a large number of eggs; because the offspring need to spend their first ten days in the ocean. They will trek from their nest to the shoreline...hunted by birds, snakes and lizards the entire time.

Growth Rate & Stages

Although their life's mechanisms may be different, Tortles are very similar to humans in height, weight, and rate of maturity.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They need a diet high in protein and low in carbs, and need to eat a little something with chlorophyll in it once a day.

Biological Cycle

Their first ten days is their most dangerous, as they make their way as fast and cleverly as they can to the shoreline.
