Vlüdbàyne

A secret police organization started by Count Rolfe Rodrigo Schartenheiney the IV when he formed the Nation of Rolfe. It was, to the brute Rolfe, simply the easiest way to keep track of the people. If one did not have a Rolfe visa on your papers, one was a commoner, and subject to the laws of Rolfe. If one did somehow have a Rolfe visa stamped in their book, one made the laws that the commoners were subjected to. The entire nation of Rolfe was housed in the massive tower at the center of the collection of small hamlets surrounding the tower that are collectively called Ravenwood. It was mostly a collection of administrative offices, tribunal courtrooms, and collections offices. Municipal codes are enforced, punishments are meted out, and records are kept. Death sentences are, of course, carried out in the public purview to warn off other criminals.   Vlüdbayne are the enforcement officers of the Nation of Rolfe. They carry out their work in secret, ghosting into and out of people's lives like apparitions in a house of mirrors. Their official uniform displays medals and specific rank upon the left breast, marks of acheivement upon the right. Rank insignia, and other patches with name, rank, and serial number, are discreetly placed along the creases formed when folding the shirt properly. They protect themselves from the weather with conditioned leather jackets and peaked, visored caps. Their training requirements are severe, and the program is intense and thorough. Many candidates do not make it through. Those who do not are assigned various tasks more in line with their skill sets, very often to administrative tasks in the Rolfe Tower1  Those who graduate from the training program, known as the Secol Vol, go into the police force as privates, and rise in ranks as would guards or police in other realms2. As they do, their power becomes more and more absolute, and those who survive will eventually become oligarchs with so much wealth that the lives they play with are truly second thoughts.
