Session 11: The Valley of Murrin Part 3

General Summary

Our heroes(?) found themselves in middle of Pallbearer Thane's camp, a paladin of the Raven Queen, sent to the valleys of Murrin to release those spirits unable to pass on to the next life. Unfortunately, there were several such spirits haunting the valleys of Murrin, stuck there due to the horrendous blight befallen on the mountain valleys. He explained to the party the tragic history of the valley -- the long winter during which starvation pushed the inhabitants to cannibalism, during which human tasted human in the valley for the first time, and the existence of an evil being responsible for the blight. Whether the being was created by the evil actions of that winter or whether the blight simply awakened something far more ancient. Either way, one thing was clear to Thane, this evil was beyond him and the best the heroes could hope to do was escape the valleys with their lives. The party, however, were optimistic about their chances in freeing the valleys of its curse.
