Session 15, Kolat Continued

General Summary

June 24, 2022

• Lyssandra began by reading one of the spellbooks looted from the apprentices room

• Tahira, beginning in the library, removed a book from the bookshelf, the book was titled Curious Kwalish, His Mysteries Inventions and Creations

• Putting the book into her bag, caused two gargoyles to manifest from their stone presence

• A fight ensued with Ag, Anvil and Tahira… while Tiffany interrupted Lyssandra attempting to read a spell

• After the fight with the gargoyles, which Tiffany and Tahira both landing the killing blows, Tiffany discovered a special lock underneath an unusual desk

• Tiffany and Lyssandra join fight in library and afterwards Yorn, says good job, took the last group much longer

• Anvil notices a book titled, Magus Buthomar’s alchemist artificers

• Lyssandra notices the ivory dragonchess set and dead spider in the terrarium

• Tiffany mage hands one of the legs and it dissolves into dust and Tahira crushes the spider into a powder and collects.

• The party heads back up stairs where Tiffany is levitated up and eventually makes his way to the ledge where two chests sit and ends up fighting a mimic

• Anvil and the stone defender come help fight off the mimic

• Before discovering what the chest was, while levitating, Tiffany inadvertently ran into and discovered the invisible staircase, anvil threw some metal balls on them and eventually, after collecting gargoyle stone dust, Lyssandra sprinkled the stairs to easily see them

• After hoisting up Tiffany from the ledge, with Ag’s help, the party made their way up to a work area of some kind with an overturned table and shattered glass on the floor, a large group of cabinets along one wall had been rifled through

• Continuing to dust the hidden staircase with the stone dust, the party found themselves in some kind of summoning chamber where a ritual was being performed by three wizards

• Lyssandra attempted to join the ritual, by cutting the back of her hand, dripping blood on the ruin covered floor, where it immediately dried and tried to join the chant herself… the wizards where too far into their ritual to be distracted

• After some deciding on what to do, the party made their way around the wizards, creature and ritual and on up the invisible staircase, to a heavy ironbound, locked door

• Anvil attempted to pick the lock but was unable to, looking past Lyssandra who was attempting to talk to Anvil, Anvil asked Tiffany to pick the lock… which he did…

• Carefully and stealthily creeping the door open, Anvil shoved past and slammed into the door, opening it immediately

• Two bolt throwers, launched their dual crossbow bolts at Anvil, missing due to his shield spell

• The room was described to the party, as each character made their way in… the moving floor, the large clamps attached to the floor, the stone defenders, the animating armor in the floor, the two levers on either side of the room

• We ended the session… before combat was about to begin…
