metal people
Basic Information
Anatomy
Physically metal people are fairly similar to humans with the same number of limbs and a fairly similar muscular structure. The main difference is that they have a very solid exoskeleton (bones and outer skin layer) made of a metal like material. Their bones are much more prevalent even on less slim people, looking at any metal person you will easily be able to see their entire skeleton.
Growth Rate & Stages
When a metal person is born they have a very thin layer of metal encasing them that they will shed very frequently until adult hood where they do not shed at all. They grow fairly similarly to humans with only approximately 110 years of natural life before dying of old age.
Ecology and Habitats
Metal people don't exactly have an environment they thrive in most, though they will often chose to live in places that don’t flood or have thunderstorms often as they can barely swim and are essentially walking lighting rods. They will also chose to live in very dangerous environments as they are unlikely to be killed early by anything but hunger or a lumin mage.
Dietary Needs and Habits
TBD
Biological Cycle
For the most part metal people are rarely affected by seasonal changes more than a shortage of food in the winter. If they live in a place with very extreme summers and winters they may become slightly more flexible in summer and more stiff and brittle in winter, but again that rarely happens to a level where it is easily noticeable.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
When they die or shed their skin the material hardens slowly and within a hundred fifty years will become a metal that can be used for smithing. Or if they have a funeral pyre where they are burned the metal be completely rid of inner organs and will be workable in less time. It isn’t morally wrong in the same way that using soil, which is also decomposed bodies, isn’t.
Facial characteristics
They have no eyebrows, instead a slightly raised bit of metal that goes from their eyes to temples. They also cannot develop acne.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Metal people are fairly average on most sensory functions with the exception of their, quite frankly, awful sense of smell. They do also have slight metal senses, if they are close to a large deposit or one of a higher concentration of lumin they will be able to sense it.
Civilization and Culture
Beauty Ideals
They define beauty by the shine on ones skin and how raised the bone structure is from the skin.
History
Near the beginning of Temprata, approximately 150 years after its creation, the deity temprance created the metal people in their image just after Leif ears were born. They were one of the first species to be given sentience and have a very rich culture and mythology. Though they are generally nomadic and peaceful until provoked they have been a major defining factor in many wars due to their metal skin, They would often be brought into wars as elite fighting forces.
Lifespan
120 years
Average Height
4’5 to 5’3
Average Weight
I dont know the exact weight, but generally much more heavy than humans
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Typically sliver or bronze. Their skin is also more matte than metal and reflects slightly less in the sun. Their hair is typically a slightly darker shade of their skin and made out of a similar material, with a thin layer covering the head, their hair is also metal and is for the purpose of more head protection.
