Vampire's Bane Spell in Teneberilla | World Anvil

Vampire's Bane

Effect

The ritual will create a potion that, when drunk by a vampire, will cure them of their vampirism.

Side/Secondary Effects

Drinking the stuff is not exactly pleasant. Any physical changes that took place will be undone in less then a minute, an unpleasant experience to begin with, and depending on the clan the person will age to what they would have been without being a vampire. This means that Vamprocillian is often times used as an assassination poison in addition to a cure.

Manifestation

It is a blue, faintly glowing liquid that occasionally jitters and shakes. It smells of pine needles and mint, but tastes like bitterness incarnate.

Discovery

Vampire's Bane was actually invented 3 millennia ago by the Aztecs as a way of dealing with the vampires that they'd occasionally capture. Who exactly discovered it is shrouded in mystery, but it proliferated enough that by the time it went to Europe it was already known about.
Material Components
To make a potion of Vampire's Bane, one must acquire mint, dead vines, basil, charcoal, and a Malira flower. They must be mixed in water in the appropriate proportion. 1/2 Malira flower, 1/4 Mint, 3/32 Basil, 3/32 charcoal and 1/16 dead vines.
Gestures & Ritual
The ingredients must all be mixed together under an open moon. One they are appropriately mixed, a bit of magic must be infused to get them to react. The bowl will turn entirely into Vampire's Bane if done correctly. If not, the liquid will remain a green color.

While the magic infusion required to create the potion isn't all that much, it requires an experienced and delicate hand. If the ingrediants are not exactly proportioned, the potion will not be created.
