Crown's Succession

After dealing with a King who spiraled into madness, causing chaos and turmoil across the provinces in which he ruled, the people decided they need a new system other than what was set in place. So the Crown's Contest was born. The Crown's Contest had each kingdom of DeuSolis choose who they believed to be their “Wisest” (in their perspective) individual to be their judge for the tournament. Across the land everyone was invited to participate in the tournament. The only prerequisite was that it was by your own volition. The first trial is a diplomatic trial where the candidates are voted on by the judges of each are to bring the candidates down to 8. There is a time where testimonies were heard from the people if they had anything to say about the candidates. People could also send an emissary with a signed statement about the candidates. After the Diplomatic Trial, there is the Crown’s Contest where the 8 Candidates fight until 1 remains the victor. Once Victoria won the contest, they decided that her 'Heir' would have the right to adopt the crown when the she dies or decides to step down. The heir would still be subjected to approval of the council. If the heir is unfit, the ruler becomes unfit or if the heir does not want it then a Crown's Contest can be called
