Enormoose

As winter approaches, the Enormoose come down from the mountains. They are absolutely massive, a covered wagon could go under them and they wouldn't even notice. Well. They'd notice. They are very perceptive. But they wouldn't have to do anything about it. But again, they probably would. They aren't friendly.
They almost always appear as though they are shadowed by the setting sun. A trick of the light as it hits them that bathes them in an orange and purple hued glow. But when darkness falls, they fade away into, seeming to become one with the frigid night.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

They are tied to the winter. Coming and going with the season, and even if they are slain one season, that doesn't make the winter and less bitter cold the next. Legend tells that if they are slain as they come down the mountain that winter can be stopped. But no one has ever mustered the forces needed to attempt such a thing.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They adore mosses and lichens. Consider them an absolute delicacy. But they'll gladly settle for Greater Bison and traveling pilgrims when the opportunity arises.

Enormoose Racks

"Well got dang if that rack ain't the most amazing thing I ever did see. Its so big and wide, looks like you could fit a family of four in there! I'll take as many of them as you've got." ~Framuel Otterback, taxidermist

The antlers of the Enormoose are a prized display. They can be prepared as a wall mount, or carved into furniture. Whatever the case, a full set in good condition is valued at 500 gp. However, collecting it from a slain enormoose requires a DC 15 Survival or Cooking Utensil's Check.

Enormilk

Potion

Very Rare

No knows who the first to discover the health benefits of Enormilk was. But they were a brave person. The task of approaching an Enormoose, and successfully milking it without being frozen where you stand is a daunting one. But for those who accomplish this legendary awaits the richest, most delicious milk they've ever had. Although it is only good for a week after its been collected. So it fetches a high price when sold to those with the wealth and inclination to use it.

When you drink Enormilk, you gain resistance to fire damage for 1 hour. Your veins flow with icy chill that protects you from the heat, just like an Enormoose.
