Tepes

Tepes is one of many worlds in the vast cosmos of the Prime Material Plane. Before Time was a concept, the universe existed in complete chaos with the existing planes of existence at the time all combined in the vast nothingness of the universe. Eventually order was brought to this chaos by the divine entity Soül.   Soül's existence remains a mystery to all, but with her creation came the creation of all things we know. Through the music of her voice, She sang the many gods and goddesses into existence and with them joining Her chorus, they built up barriers between the Astral, Ethereal, Abyssal, and Pandemonium planes of existence. Then, with the help of the deities, She created all the elements - Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Magic. The elements created were then used in harmony to create the planets, oceans, winds, and leylines of the various worlds, of which Tepes is but one.   Tepes is the first and greatest planet in the cosmos and the only one the gods and Soül worked on physically. They dug out the oceans, built up the mountains by hand, molded the first animals, and cultivated every green field. Then they came together at Soül's behest and with her power, joined again in song to create the first intelligent race: the Dwarves. The newly created race was assigned to help excavate the Earth and forever after held a fondess and longing for the deep tunnels of the mountains throughout the world. Then, to help with preserving the natural wonder of the world, Soül and the Pantheon, as the deities came to be called by the Dwarves, created the Elves of which they created various different types. The sea elves aided Valkur in maintaining the oceans and fostering life beneath the waves. The Wood Elves were charged with protecting the forests and fields of the world and worked closely with Chauntea and her daughter Mielikki to do so. The High Elves worked with the Lady of Magic, Mystra, and her champion, Lolth, with finding balance between the chaotic nature of Magic with the ordered Material Plane.   Other races were created to aid in other ways. The Aarakocra were created to protect the skies and watch over the creatures that flew above the earth. Giantkin were created to help shape the world that the Pantheon was too great in power to do themselves. Many other races would rise up in time as the ages passed on.   Despite the intent to all work in harmony, the Elves and Dwarves often came into conflict when Dwarves would dig through wooded realms or forests would grow up too close to the mountains. Fighting threatened to destroy both races, so another race was made. A race designed with the best features of both Elf and Dwarf and the resolve, and diplomacy to find common ground between the two. The Humans were born and worked together to bring the other races together in their task.   Peace and harmony radiated through Tepes until one goddess, Soül's first born Tiamat the Everlasting, consumed by jealousy and contempt for the mortal races and desiring to create her own worlds far from these "lesser" beings sought to overthrow all that her mother and siblings created.
