Frieda Firenze
Frieda is a human cleric of Vek who has dedicated her life to protecting the innocent.
From the humble town of Elderwood, Frieda was raised in a seemingly unremarkable farming community. For the most part, her upbringing resembled that of any youth who came of age in the countryside of Aurum; namely, toil and piety beneath the long shadow cast by the City.
Unlike most of the other villagers within the domain, however, Frieda's family - and, in secret, most of Elderwood itself - worshiped the heretical god Vek. Even more, Frieda was no mere cultist. From birth, she was singled out among many to be the chosen of her order...and not by a mere mortal, but by the god himself.
Modest by nature, Frieda did not reveal this to either her family or the religious order at large for most of her life. It was not until she was called by Vek to take up the Torch and Shield that any knew of her destiny. With her small community ever in her heart, she set out on a holy quest to spread the joy and warmth of Vek.
Falling into the work of adventuring was a natural evolution. Joining as an early recruit of the Champions of Blackfriar, Frieda and her companions quickly made a name for themselves. In their many adventures since, the so-called Knights of Rennfreid have relied many times on Frieda's powerful divine magic to hold the line and keep them in the fight.
Frieda's fluency in battle does not always carry over to her personal life. Most who meet Frieda describe her as awkward, but charming - yet many more describe first and foremost that they owe her their life.
Two such companions, Webin and Boris, act as her page and shield-bearer respectively.
Among her many notable achievements, Frieda was instrumental in closing a portal to the Nine Hells during the Siege of Duganry with the Knights, an act which saved the city from certain doom.
