The Family

The Family is a line of mages descended from the Godkin, whose power halves when their children are born. These children then outgrow their parent's former selves, and can combine their strength with other members of the Family to cast stronger spells. The Bloody Baron is an older member of the Family who began consuming other members after they'd achieved their potential, in order to steal their powers.
