NPCs of Interest in the Border Marches

Countess Saris Marjoleine: Noble with direct individual control of the Eastern Border Marches region within which Raven's Rock Keep is located; she has never once set foot in the fort. Her palace is several hundred miles to the west in Marleven, and her influence in daily life on the Keep is minimal. Her main impact has been the appointment of Major Merula to the role of Castellan, and her insistence on his marriage to her distant cousin Elsinore several years after the death of his first wife Keterina. The Baroness is a childless dowager in her middle fifties, caught up in layers of court intrigues over the uncertain succession plan for her holdings, and is less than interested in the goings on in the Keep other than the flow of tax money and its use as a bulwark against the hordes of the Wild Wastelands.
