Zaginax Cifari
The court mage and personal advisor to the Castellan; a Northlands Wood Elf with a definite cruel streak. Master of the bow and quarterstaff, she's much more a ranger sort of spellcaster than she is a wizard sort. But her athleticism shouldn't take away from her brilliance; she's impatient and condescending with those she feels are willfully ignorant, but patient and kind to those she feels are innocent or at least trying their best. She's also gorgeous, and monopolizing the pretty bard's attentions.

Personal history
Zaginax is by far the oldest resident of the Keep despite looking barely 19, but she has only lived in this region for the past thirty years or so, coming to the Keep originally as a refugee from an Orc war of conquest in the Wild Wastelands. Her hatred of Orcs is deep and irrational, though she has enough self-control to at least behave civilly if necessary.
Education
Zaginax learned the magical arts from great Wood Elf mages, taking a more druidic route than a classical wizard school. The actual extent of her powers is unknown, but if the stories are to be believed, she single-handedly destroyed over sixty orcs in the battle that eventually drove her from her homeland and into the Realm. Because of this education from elves and the forest itself, her powers are primal, earth-drawn, storm-blessed, filled with chaos and rot and the green, to the point that some in the town whisper she is no regular elf at all, but the Summer Queen herself in disguise. Zaginax just laughs at this, remarking rightly that the Summer Queen could erase a thousand Orcs as easily as blowing out a candle - and that Titania would give herself a more melodious name than Zaginax.
Employment
Zaginax lived at the Keep when it was Raven's Rock Abbey, as its protector and overwatch, and the Castellan immediately saw the value in her particular set of skills, giving her the position of Magus and bestowing an enormous amount of freedom in her role at the keep. Her specific job is advisory rather than military, and its within her purview to keep track of the various intrigues at court back in Marleven and beyond, in the capitol, if these have any relevance to the goings-on at the keep.
