Dh'Lrug kon Yahnshuuh - The Battle of the Grain

"It is now the autumn of 1405. I am leading my forces into the Dhabo Northfields. With the Aumanite forces rapidly catching up to us we are to burn the harvests before we leave. I have not told the people of the Fields.

The people of this land are very pious. I see many of them praying as they go about their daily activities. Each time they sit to eat they say a prayer before they take a single bite. And before the food even reaches their table they take a tenth from their harvest and give it to their temple who will use it as they see fit. As you know I never have been religious myself. And I do not see their idol toiling at the soil as they do to earn his tenth share, but I fear for their safety if we leave.

I and these pages know what becomes of the kind of people I see here when the enemy arrives. They will surely die."

— An Excerpt From the Diary of King Kassian Talluk Rosenthorn VI

The Conflict

The Engagement

Regardless of the offical plan of T'cherah's command, Kassian Talluk stood his ground in the Northfields. He innitially attempted a peace offering by preparing a meal for the invading forces and wished to ask them to holt conflict so that the people could harvest their food.

On the cold windy day Kassian stepped forward from his army and offered the food to the general directly. He wore no armor, carried no shield nor sword and the genral let him approach. He refused the king's offering and raised his sword to stab him. He mearly grazed the young king, however, who had brought his own knife and quickly killed the enemy general.

Without their leader to command them, the Aumanite army was easily scattered into the wilderness. Kassian's army stayed in the town for an extra three months to pick off straggling enemy soldiers.
