Edenism
Introduction
Edenism is one of Terrabore's major religion. I was founded in the first century BE in the Guildwellian Pennensula. The primary values of this belief system are chamioning human efforts and power over the intervention and belief in gods or other beings of faith, and the pure pursuit of knowledge and innovation.
It has four major denominations:
Orthodox Edenism
Orthodox Edenism is considered the direct descendant of the original stystem of phylosophy. Champions the scripture that "Eve did not set out to be correct, but to build a community and foster wellbeing."
Aumanite Edenism
Aumanite Edenism gets its name from the region in which it originated. It was born in Auma—a reagion in the north west of Guildwelliah—in 930 AE and it's primarily defined by its zealous anti-theism. It chamions the Edenite scripture that "Edenites are to avoid believing in falsehoods and build their foundations upon truths."
Aumanite Edenism formed as a response to Edenism's growing focus on glorifying Eve—in particular, statues, paintings and other images. They felt such actions were counter to Eve's atheistic teachings and distracted from the Edenite values of learning and community building. In the nation of Auma, no theistic religion is officially recognixed and belief in gods are seeen as inferior and archaic. Even in some cities, public preyer is banned along with religious imagery and symbols. These anti-religious sentiments are also use to justify Aumanite colonization of the west.
Hesterian Edenism
Hesterian Edenism originates in the late 12th century AE when contact between Metisians and Guildwellians was growing and was instramental to forging interegional relationship. This is due to the fact that Metis is a matriarical culture and was fond of Edenism due to its founder being a woman which made Guildwelliahs egalitarianism leaning patriarichy easier to stomach for the Metisians.
