Edenite Teacher
Among the oldest traditions of Guildwellian history is that of teaching. Ever since the founding of Eden — which marks year zero on the Guildwellian caalendar — the spread of knowlege has been a staple virtue of the Guildwellian people.
Career
Qualifications
Traditionally, Edenite teachers begin as Edenite students. After attaining a primary education — usually taking about five to seven years — one may begin to earn credentials in a specific field. As one gains these credentials they are then given authorization to teach at most available Edenite temples or even star their own schools or teaching service.
Payment & Reimbursement
The average income for an Edenite teacher varies greadly based on field, experience, and place. An individual teaching in Eden ir T'cherah where qualified teachers are common place is likely not gonna make as much money as and Edenite acholar teaching in a foreign land or place a bit more remote from Eden.
Perception
Social Status
It is not uncommon for the average Guildwellian to have some level of Edenite study, however, those who put effort into teching what they have studied are considered an honorable sort. According to Edenite tradition studying and gathering information and teaching that information to others or documenting it for future use is the greatest thing one could do for their fellow human beings.
Edenite scholars and teachers are also seen as the brightest and most capable that Guildwelliah has to offer. Thus, many of Guildwelliah's elected leaders and high respected professions are filled by either current or past Edenite teachers.
Additionally, work as a teacher is commonly seen as a form of a community service — especially in T'cherah. Thus, it's an easy was to build up credible work experience.
