Ralkyan
The land of Aylyon's outcasts and exhiles, Ralkyan is a small town that serves as a departing point for many of the nation's worst criminals. Controlled by the Aylish government
Demographics
Most of the town is of Aylish or T'sagulian descent with some Common Landers and other nationalities or ethnicities. According to the census of 1437 the make up of the population was as follows:
Total Population: 1542
West Aylish: 803 (52%)
East Aylish: 412 (27%)
T'sagulian: 113 (7%)
Common Lander: 98 (6%)
Gyann: 91(6%)
Other: 25 (2%)
Defences
The town is heavily armed particularly in the north. This is because the north side faces the Outerlands whcih is where the crininals are taken as a form of exhile and/or execution. On occasion the criminals will return where they are promptly killed or captured on sight.
The toen is considered the origin point of the Great Northern Aylish Wall (GNAW) which is a line of towers, walls, defenses and other guardian towns that stretches ten thousand miles east and seven thousand miles west from Ralkyan.
Industry & Trade
Ralkyan doesn't produce much goods for the Aylish economy. In fact the town cost more for the government to maintain than any other city of similar population. This is due to the need to maintain weopons and food in a highly inhospitable environment. The Aylish government also limits movement into the region as a means of limiting the expense of suplimenting the incomes of its population.
In order to live and work in Ralkyan and its surrounding areas without having been born there one must:
- be and Aylish citizen by birth or four seven years after immigrating;
- have seven years of combat or survival experience
- attain a federal approval form certifying that one understands the risk of habitation in the region
